Sexual Slavery in the United States
Hundreds of thousands of thousands of human trafficking are brought
into the U.S., but American children are also its victims.
Human trafficking at its core is slavery. Thousands of American girls and
boys are kidnapped and/or coerced into sexual slavery in America. It's a
multi-billion dollar industry that is a scourge on our country.

THE FACTS:
  • “Human trafficking is a modern-day form of slavery. Victims of human
    trafficking are subjected to force, fraud, or coercion, for the purpose of
    sexual exploitation or forced labor. Victims are young children,

  • Sex Trafficking is "the recruitment, harboring, transportation,
    provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial
    sex act, in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or
    coercion, or in which the person forced to perform such an act is
    under the age of 18 years." (The Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 )
  • Traffickers use force, fraud, and coercion to compel women, men and
    children to engage in sexual activities. Force involves use of rape,
    torture, beatings, threats, and confinement.
  • The average age of entry into sex trafficking in the U.S. is between 11
    and 14..A minor involved in trafficking has a lifespan of 7-10 years.
  • When sex trafficking victims become pregnant, they are forced to have
    an abortion and are often forced to work the next day.
  • After drug dealing, human trafficking is tied with the illegal arms
    industry as the second largest criminal industry in the world today, and
    it is the fastest growing.

Trafficking Obliteration Project (T-STOP) works in connection with
Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition to educate key target groups
who can play an integral part in reducing the demand for sex trafficking
